Employees of the Breast Care Center are all smiles at PS Charities' Denim and Diamonds silent auction.
PS Charities was able to raise $20,000 in 2009 and tripled the amount in 2010 with $60,000 to be donated to the Patient Assistance Fund at the GWU Breast Care Center.

PS Charities is excited to bring you a Caribbean Casino Night and Silent Auction to benefit the GWU Breast Care Centers’ Patient Assistance Fund. The event will take place on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Carlyle Club, in Alexandria VA. at 7:00PM. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to the Patient Assistance Fund.

With support from the Fund, the Breast Care Center has helped women overcome financial burdens and has established educational seminars for patients transitioning from treatment. At the center, they believe that the type of care you receive as a patient can influence how well you recover. Therefore, we seek to help patients successfully move through all stages of the continuum of care for breast cancer diagnoses. The Fund has also provided support with: overdue utility bills, rent subsidies, transportation expenses, babysitting expenses so a patient could keep her medical appointments, medications (related to breast cancer diagnosis or treatment), bras for mastectomy patients, physical therapy, Lymphedema care, and sessions with the Reiki Master and Naturopath at the Center for Integrative Medicine.

We are in search of items for the auction as well. Auction items must have a $50.00 minimum and can range from a weekend getaway to dinner and a movie date night. Your contribution will assist PS Charities in hosting a successful and enjoyable event that will help fight against breast cancer.
